After many years of research and testing, the final results of the three European projects COOPERS, SAFESPOT and CVIS will be presented at the Cooperative Mobility Showcase 2010. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to experience hands-on, in numerous demonstrator cars on the public road and a test track, the new techniques in vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.

Live demonstrations in the Public Road Tour:
  • Dynamic speed limit
  • Enhanced situation awareness (incidents, congestion, bad weather)
  • Travel information
  • Parking guidance
  • Cooperative intersection
  • Intelligent routing
  • In car traffic management

Live Safety demonstrations include:
  • Hazard & incident warning
  • Safety at intersections
  • Safety margin for assistance & emergency vehicle
  • Lane change assistance
  • Head-on collision warning
  • Frontal collision prevention
The Public Road Tour was driven with Volkswagen Commercial vehicles. The mini vans were driven by special drivers and the vans were equipped with unique instrumentation in order to show the passengers the exact experience that the driver has. Passengers could see and hear precisely what the drivers did. The Volkswagens were also fitted with the CVIS, Coopers and Safespot equipment which allowed for vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure communication.
The demonstrations showed how the deployment of European cooperative systems will enhance safety and mobility, reduce the impact on the environment and support end-users.
