Most extensive cooperative mobility showcase ever
Worldwide largest demonstration
Amsterdam, 4 March 2010 -
A world-class showcase of innovative vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-infrastructure road transport technologies will be held in and around Amsterdam from 23 - 26 March 2010. The showcase presents the most extensive demonstration site ever, a world premier with about 40 cooperative applications at work.A live tour says more than a thousand words. Being at least four times bigger than what was presented in Stockholm at the ITS World Congress last year, the Cooperative Mobility Showcase is the largest demonstration ever put together. It is complex in that it will show many applications working simultaneously, and as they interact with each other. The Showcase displays the latest findings, it's the one-stop all-inclusive chance to get an update on the cutting edge of cooperative mobility.
Seeing is believingA wide range of cooperative mobility applications will be demonstrated on the public highways leading from Amsterdam RAI to Schiphol Airport, on the airport's own road network and in a dedicated safety demonstration area. In addition, a fully operational 'Cooperative Traffic Centre of the Future' will be set up to visualise the demonstrations going on outdoors and to show the migration from existing systems to future applications. All in all, about 40 cooperative applications will be displayed.
Book a rideWhile driving between Amsterdam RAI and Schiphol, the demonstration reveals the latest cooperative system technologies in efficiency and safety. A special route has been prepared, which includes urban, inter-urban and regional roads, so that all cooperative concepts can be shown. Each leg of the route has its own characteristics.
One of the key elements of cooperative systems is the seamless handover between different communication channels: infrared (short range), M5 (medium range at 5.9GHz) and 3G (wireless internet) communication media. Seamless wireless communication will be in action at the Showcase.
The demonstration ride shows what 'driving of the future' will be. Delegates of the Showcase conference are guaranteed a demonstration ride.
